IOM and Fordham University cement their partnership
New York – At Fordham University’s Lincoln Center campus on 27 September, on behalf of IOM, Director General Swing signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Fordham’s International Institute for Humanitarian Affairs (IIHA). The signed agreement strengthens relations between IOM and Fordham. IIHA was founded in 2001 in partnership with the Center for International Humanitarian Cooperation (CIHC). By incorporating the academic rigor and intellectual standard of Fordham University with the experience and expertise of aid and development agencies in the field, IIHA endeavors to advance the methods and framework by which humanitarian workers operate. Their mission is to train and educate current and future aid workers at local, regional, national, and international levels. IOM have partnered with IIHA since its inception and numerous IIHA graduates have gone on to work for IOM. This agreement encourages greater collaboration in research, education, information exchange and trainings between IOM and IIHA.
